Lexus ES EV Korea: price, range and an Electrified G80 comparison

The Lexus ES electric range starts at KRW 71.6 million for the ES 350e Premium in Korea. But a headline saying it is “cheaper than a G80” needs a qualification: which G80, and with which equipment?

This guide uses Korean official information checked on September 15, 2026. It is a comparison checklist, not a hands-on review. It does not establish a final price after subsidies or individual purchase incentives.

What does the starting price include?

The official Lexus pre-order price list lists the ES 350e Premium at KRW 71.6 million, ES 500e Premium at KRW 77 million, and hybrid ES 350h Premium at KRW 72.9 million. Pre-orders run September 14 through October 12, ahead of an October 13 Korean launch. A launch date is not a guaranteed delivery date.

Start a comparison with the exact model and grade. Then list the equipment you need. If an important seat feature requires a higher grade, use that grade's quote rather than combining a base price with the equipment pictured on a display car.

Is it cheaper than the Electrified G80?

The Genesis Electrified G80 page displays a starting price of KRW 89.08 million. That is the electric model, not the gasoline G80.

The arithmetic difference from KRW 71.6 million is KRW 17.48 million. It is not automatically a buyer's final saving. Align the quotation dates, tax assumptions, options and discount conditions before comparing totals. Keep registration costs separate so that each difference remains visible.

For each car, write down:

• Exact model and grade, including the configuration you would actually order.
• Essential equipment, such as seat functions, driver assistance and audio.
• Quote date, tax basis, option costs and any conditional discounts.
• Parking fit, charging access and travel time to a service location.

A large price gap does not make two cars interchangeable if one cannot meet an important practical requirement. Equally, equipment you would not use may not justify paying more. This is a framework for making your own comparison, not a ranking of the brands.

What does the 478km range figure tell you?

Lexus lists a combined single-charge range of 478km for the ES 350e. Do not apply it to every ES electric configuration or treat it as a guarantee for your journeys. For example, a 50km round-trip commute on five days totals 250km before weekend travel. Add your other journeys and mark the times when charging would actually be available. This exercise maps your routine; it does not predict an exact charging frequency.

Five checks before ordering

1. Does the quote name the same model and grade as the price you compared?
2. Are your required features standard, optional, or restricted to a higher grade?
3. Are confirmed incentives separated from estimates?
4. Are delivery expectations and contract change or cancellation conditions in writing?
5. Will your test drive include rear-seat comfort, luggage space and parking fit?

The starting price is a useful reason to investigate the ES. A like-for-like quote and a realistic charging routine are what turn that headline into a decision you can use.
